Family-run in Stalbridge, Dorset since 1851

Our Team

We aim to make sure that there are always team members on hand in the shop for customers with a query!

Our Team

We have a strong and knowledgeable team here at our Stalbridge store, and some of them have been with us for decades.

Good customer service is one of our highest priorities. We try to ensure that there are plenty of team members on hand in the shop to help customers find items or to carry out your shopping to your car.

A FEW OF OUR FAVOURITE THINGS

We asked the experts – our team – to tell us which products they really like and why…

Andy Dike

Managing Director

"One of my favourite things is our long history, stretching back five generations. We've been serving the people of the Blackmore Vale and beyond since 1851."

Adam Vincent

Director & Store Manager

"It's got to be a Taylor's Bakery Lardy Slice. A traditional West Country Tea Bread made with lard, it's one of the tastiest and naughtiest things in the shop (apart from me!)"

Andy Miles

Assistant Store Manager

"I came across Kin Toffee Vodka when recovering from my stag weekend football zorbing knee injury. It's sweet and warming and dulled the pain magnificently."

Jeanette Barnes

Office Manager

"Well for me, it has to be post-it notes from our well-stocked stationery aisle. I'm constantly making notes all day, so they're handy to help me keep track of everything – and everybody!"

Andy Knapman

Catering Manager

"Our Luxury Sandwich range is really special – delicious recipes, well filled using local ingredients, and freshly made by our brilliant Dike's Kitchen Team."

Zara Chatterley

Cafe Manager

"We use over 100 eggs a day in the Cafe and these ones from nearby Bishop's Caundle are lovely – they have a rich coloured yolk that's ideal for omelettes".

Matt Law

Trainee Asst Store Manager

"I've been occasionally known to enjoy a lovely & local Jon Thorner's Somerset Steak & London Pride Ale Pie for my lunch. Well, several times a week actually."

Richard Parrish

Drinks Manager

"I'm choosing this very fine Graham's 40-year-old Tawny Port, because it's aged very well, like me. We specialise in unusual or hard-to-source tipples – just ask!."

Jan Lane

Deli Manager

"I make these mini quiches from scratch for the Deli Counter and our salad lunch boxes. You can also pre-order them for parties and picnics or afternoon teas."

Kelvin Miles

Grocery Manager

"Moore's have been baking Dorset biscuits for a bit longer than I've been working here at Dike's." (Kelvin allegedly joined us in 1969 but no one can quite remember back that far).

Mike Rogers

Chilled Food Manager

"I have to recommend this salted Maryland Butter. Churned in Somerset by Barber's, it's our best-selling local every day butter, and it's a great price."

Alison Jordan

Home Shopping Co-ordinator

"I absolutely love having flowers round the house – they make me feel happy and cheerful! We do a beautiful range of bouquets to suit every pocket."
