Our Store
Dike & Son is one of the largest independent supermarkets in the West Country. Our modern, airy superstore, deli and in-store cafe are situated in Stalbridge, north Dorset, with free customer parking. We offer a complete online shopping service for local delivery – and we also post UK-wide. Dike's Kitchen is our catering division, offering freshly made quality food for your event, as well as bar hire. We're open 8am-8pm Monday to Saturday, 10am-4pm Sunday.
Our facilities
Our light airy store has wide aisles and plenty of tills to ensure a smooth shopping experience. We offer free parking for up to 100 cars, a free-to-use cash machine, customer toilets, free in-store WiFi, carry out to car service. Our in-store licensed Cafe serves breakfasts, lunches and Dorset cream teas, all home-made, using locally-sourced produce where possible.
Speciality Section
We stock a wide range of interesting and niche products that you won't necessarily find in your everyday supermarket. The majority of these can be found in the dedicated section within our Grocery department, making it easy to discover something a little different.
Alongside this, we're proud to offer two Dorset-themed ends, filled to the brim with products sourced from across our wonderful county. From delicious chocolates and biscuits to locally roasted coffee, jams, and chutneys, you'll find a fantastic selection of Dorset favourites all in one place.
Our Café
William's Café is named after Andy Dike's father. We're open for coffee and locally-baked cakes, our legendary home-cooked hearty breakfasts and traditional lunches, as well as home-made soup and lighter bites such as toasties and salads. Our Café is open from 8am-4pm Monday to Saturday (closed Sunday). Last orders for hot food at 2.30pm.
Our Deli counter
Did you know we stock over 150 varieties of cheese across the store? From every day favourites to local specialities such as Dorset Blue Vinny, there's something to suit every taste. Better still, around a quarter of our range is locally sourced, carefully selected by our knowledgeable Deli team.
Cheese isn't the only local produce you'll find on our Deli counter. We also stock locally-sourced salami and chorizo from The Real Cure, alongside a delicious selection of olives.
The Deli is also a showcase for our widely-praised Dike's Kitchen produce. Hand-crafted in the shop daily by our Deli team, choose from a selection of savoury bites such as Scotch eggs, pork pies and sausage rolls, or tempt your taste buds with our indulgent seasonal desserts. You'll also find our own gammon ham and a variety of freshly cooked meats. Made using as many locally sourced, quality ingredients as possible, our ever-expanding Dike's Kitchen range is one we're incredibly proud of.
Event Catering & Bar hire
We've been feeding the folk of the Blackmore Vale and beyond for well over 150 years, so you can trust us to look after your guests! Dike's Kitchen can cater for your wedding, wake, party, barbecue or village hall event, with a menu options to suit all dietary requirements and budgets – as well as lots of bar hire options. We offer free glass hire and a full refund on any unused drink (terms apply).
